Are you a licensed Certified Athletic Trainer interested in working for an expanding Orthopaedics practice? At Wabash General Hospital, our Athletic Trainers are crucial to the success of our outreach program and an invaluable asset to the health of our athletic communities. They work collaboratively with our Orthopedic providers, providing access to injury assessments, treatment, and prevention strategies for local and area athletes. We currently serve thirteen high schools and two community colleges and counting. Our Athletic Trainers enjoy autonomous practice, mentoring and engagement with a professional peer network, readily accessible physicians, paid continuing education, opportunities for career advancement, paid time off, and many other benefits.
Duties of the certified athletic trainer include, but are not limited to: evaluation, treatment, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries under the direction of WGH sports medicine physician Dr. Karsten Slater, home event and practice coverage; with some travel to away events. Proper and prompt clinical documentation. Communication liaison between primary care provider or specialist and school administration, athletes, and parents/guardians. Cognitive baseline testing and preventative program development and implementation. New graduates are encouraged to apply and we offer full scholarship programs for student loan reimbursement.
