A Day in the Life of a Chamber Director

Balancing faith, family, and community, life as the Lawrence County Chamber Director is more than meetings and events—it’s about making an impact.

Behind the Scenes: A Day in the Life of a Chamber Director

Being the Executive Director of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce is more than just a title—it’s a calling, a passion, and a commitment to the community I’ve called home for the last 21 years. My days are filled with balancing faith, family, and work while striving to make a meaningful impact on the businesses and people who make our county thrive.

Mornings: Faith, Focus, and Fuel

Each day starts early, often before the sun rises. With a cup of coffee in hand and my Bible open, I spend time in prayer and reflection, centering myself before the whirlwind of the day begins. Faith is the foundation of everything I do, guiding my leadership and interactions throughout the day.

Work Begins: Serving Our Business Community

By the time I step into the Chamber office, my schedule is packed with meetings, calls, and emails. Whether I’m preparing for an upcoming event, advocating for local businesses, or planning initiatives to support economic growth, every task is geared toward strengthening our business community. I make it a priority to visit members regularly, checking in, listening to their needs, and finding ways the Chamber can support their success.

Community Involvement: Leading by Example

One of the most rewarding parts of my role is giving back beyond the Chamber doors. I actively volunteer at the Senior Center, supporting programs like Fish & Loaves, ensuring those in need receive meals and encouragement. As a member of Rotary, I join forces with other community leaders to support local projects and initiatives. And as a fireman’s wife, I understand the sacrifice and dedication of our first responders, always looking for ways to support and uplift them and their families.

Spotlight on Local Businesses

One of my favorite parts of the job is putting the spotlight on businesses and entrepreneurs who work tirelessly to make our community great. Whether it’s celebrating a ribbon-cutting, highlighting a member on social media, or simply stopping by to chat, I love seeing business owners thrive.

Evenings: Family and Reflection

After a full day of meetings, visits, and events, I cherish coming home to my husband, Christopher, and spending quality time with family. Some evenings are filled with Chamber events or small group gatherings, but I always try to carve out time to recharge, reflect, and prepare for the next day.

The Heart of It All: A Passion for Lawrence County

At the end of the day, my role isn’t just about running a Chamber—it’s about impacting lives, fostering growth, and building a stronger, more connected community. I’m blessed to serve in this capacity, knowing that every handshake, every meeting, and every effort contributes to the legacy of this beloved place I call home.

If you ever see me out and about, whether at the Chamber office, a community event, or just grabbing a coffee, don’t hesitate to say hello—I’d love to connect and hear how we can continue making Lawrence County an even better place together!
