Full job description
Responsibilities:
Provide supports to individuals accessing the Community Living Room;
Make referral to Crisis services when higher level of care is needed;
Maintain resource directory, staying up to date on changes to local resources;
Assist individuals in developing coping skills and strategies for relapse prevention
Provide; education on mental health, addiction, and recovery topics;
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions and progress.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED or higher education;
Lived experience as a consumer of mental health or substance abuse services;
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Ability to work constructively with clients, other providers and the community
Knowledge of community resources for referral purposes
Understanding of the Mental Health Code and Confidentiality Act
Ability to put agency policies and procedures to practice
Ability to interact with administration, boards, public and staff in a friendly, cooperative, confidential and professional manner at all times
